Tips for Maximising Your Display Refrigerator

A display refrigerator displays your cooled products to your customers. When properly used, it can be a wonderful way to increase sales and promote impulse buys. In this article, we’ll give you some tips on how to make that happen.

Place Expensive Items At Eye Level

If the fridge is a tall one, the three shelves around eye height should be filled with your best products and the ones that make you the most money. This will be what people see first and it will entice them to buy these products first.

Use Attractive Colours

People are drawn by colours, but certain colours, such as yellow, red, and green, are more appetising and stimulate hunger than blue or white. You can use this to help create a better display in your cold case. If your display fridge is lower, such as for cakes or meats, try laying out red or green mats below the food to draw the eye and enhance items that may not be as attractive.

Label Everything

People may see something that looks interesting but won’t touch it because they don’t know what it is. By adding a small label, you ensure they see what the food is without the need to ask and this can actually increase sales. Your labels don’t need to be overly stylish but should give customers an idea of what they are buying.

Combine Items

Is someone coming to buy a drink? They may go to the refrigerator to get a drink and then see a sandwich selection immediately above it, with crisps to one side. This encourages people to buy a full snack or meal right then and there. By keeping items close together so they go together, you can easily boost your sales.

Place Older Items Up Front

As the best buy dates vary, the oldest date should be in the front of the display fridge for anyone who is grabbing their own items. If your display fridge is meant for the attendant to remove the items and serve them, the freshest items should be at the front. This will ensure the older products are sold off first and the items in the refrigerator are always as fresh as possible.

It’s important to choose the right display refrigerator and ensure that it is maintained. This will keep products as fresh as possible.
